jah know

today my ears heard someone say "but that means my hair needs to be curly" , however i noticed that she already had very curly hair but it was straigneted by chemical needs/ i think she was talking about having dreadlocks.

But the much more important BREAKING NEWS is the following:
BBC reveal the truth again. thanks. - bold parts highlighted by I.

"Television replays clearly show the Liverpool attacker tugging at the hair of Brent Sancho as he leaps above the Trinidad defender for the 82nd minute goal in Nuremberg on Thursday.

Crouch grasps Sancho's dreadlocks with his right hand and yanks so hard that his opponent's head twists round violently."

Sancho angry as TV shows Crouch pulled hair to climb

COLIN STEWART

AT 6ft 7in you wouldn't think Peter Crouch would need to resort to illegal tactics to outjump defenders who are comparitively diminutive in stature. But that is exactly what the England striker did while scoring the breakthrough goal in the laboured 2-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago.

Television replays clearly show the Liverpool attacker tugging at the hair of Brent Sancho as he leaps above the Trinidad defender for the 82nd minute goal in Nuremberg on Thursday.

Crouch grasps Sancho's dreadlocks with his right hand and yanks so hard that his opponent's head twists round violently.

Sancho, a mere 5ft 11in, is adamant the goal should have been disallowed. The Gillingham defender, who used to play in Scotland with Dundee, said: "We are gutted, just gutted with the result. It was really heart-wrenching. The first goal was definitely a foul by Crouch. He was all over my back but we didn't get the decision.

"The second goal [from Steven Gerrard] came when they hit us on the break as we tried to get back - but the first one was the crucial one so late in the game and I was fouled."

Clearly frustrated by England's late smash-and-grab act after his team had defended so heroically, Sancho suggested that Japanese referee Toru Kamikawa had not given a foul because of Trinidad's status as the tournament's minnows.

"Crouch was all over me," Sancho continued. "He was definitely pulling me back and that meant I couldn't get to him. But don't forget, we are tiny Trinidad and Tobago and there is no way that the referee was going to blow that whistle and disallow the goal."

Crouch had given no indication of there being any controversy over his sixth goal in five games for his country when interviewed before Sancho's gripes came to light. The Liverpool striker said: "It was great to score in a World Cup and it was a special moment for me."

It was only when the incident was picked up on the late night World Cup highlights programmes on BBC 1 and ITV 1 that the extent of Crouch's interference became clear. There was little sympathy for Sancho on Match of the Day, with pundit Ian Wright remarking: "It
serves him right for having long hair."

cities vs suburbs - what do you think ?

this is the resource i use when i want to see maps of the planet Earth.
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/world.html

and here is a great interactive learning tool by BBC again . It gives information about the history of human urbanization progress. if i had a vote, i would not choose cities to grow as much as they did now, but now that we have them , we need to support them and what they stand for WITH MORE EMPHASIS ON respect and protection FOR NATURE. what i mean by that is , we gotta make sure we are protecting the nature before we put development into the city.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/world/06/urbanisation/html/urbanisation.stm

be sure to check it out and spread it!

CITIES MATTER TO US ! HUMANS IN 21ST CENTURY MUST LOVE CITIES!

city of ISTANBUL

SAY NO TO SUBURBIAN NATION ! NO MORE one and half HOUR drives to work ! NO MORE WASTING PETROL and KILLING NATURE .

a post about the story of the city of CLEVELAND , OHIO coming up SOON ! cleveland is a victim of its people not caring about it . and unfortunately it tells a lot about attitudes about living in the united states. we will try to explore it in our exploration of this struggle for survival.

Stats for HALF TIME

today's the game

just about in 20 minutes the most exciting game of the world cup will start. trinidad and tobago vs it's colonial downpressor england. the commentary on television have been trying to put down trinidad however they can talk all the talk they want and we're gonna see what's up when the game starts. now the england fans are showing the number 9 player's move on field right after his goal - it's kinda like a breakdancing move - electrifying or something like that. CROUCH hALdinho is his name. i'm sure youtube has a video of him ..

that is one thing about the internet, anything you can think of you'll probably find some kind of information - big or small, text or graphic ... but that is exactly the dangerous thing about the internet .. too many people but not enough guidance and right use... well , that seems to be what's wrong with our world anyway .. .like driving . for example, how they're gonna advertise so much cars and so much speed and bla bla bla and accidents will happen and people are gonna get killled. it's not right .. just cuz some people are gonna make money and some people are going to satisfy their weird insticts such as driving very fast on the road with humans around him ..

well the game s about the start .. the players are walking with the children holding their hands. yorke and beckham are leading their packs. in front of them are the referrees in neon yellow tops and black shorts .. te bleachers of the giant german stadium of ? with people of england with their white and red cross flags and gear and the trinis with their red and white colors with their black river in the middle across.

forged from the love of liberty - trinidad and tobago national anthem - ISLAND OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA ! MOVE NOW!

trinidad tobago stun sweden

that's what i'm talking about !!

since my team is not in the World Cup, my team for this cup is Trinidad and Tobago --and today they gave us a glimpse of what they're capable of in the next three weeks.

Trinidad Tobago - Sweden 0 - 0

this is a great victory for us since it's TnT's first time in the WC and it is the smallest country (only 1.3 million people) ever that qualified for the World Cup. more amazingly, they played with only 10 MAN from the 47th minute on!! OY OY OY !!

Hislop, former Howard University goalie, was like a BRICK WALL! he saved around 20 shots from Swedish players. Ibrahimovic, who was Sweden's attack player was left empty-handed thanks to Hislop's right-hand man DREADLOCKS RASTA Sancho's defense. I love it!!

The odds for a draw were 1/ 40 and this is what i call an offset!

the next game is against England and i know it's gonna be another senegal - france of WC 2002. you know what i'm talking about .. !

Welcome Shiloh!

It is impossible not to come across news of the new most famous baby if you read a newspaper and that's what happened to me again today. However, unlike any other celebrity news, this news actually make me feel good because the parents have taken all of their steps so wisely so far. I have to admit I really like this family and what they do for the world, specifically Africa. More on what they do here:

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt poses to help baby Africans

Grateful Brangelina donate $300G for Namibia babies

And giving their child a Rasta name highly contributes to my fascination about this phenomenon. Here is what SHILOH means:

1-
An ancient village of central Palestine northwest of the Dead Sea. In the Bible, it was a meeting place and sanctuary for the Israelites and the site of a tabernacle where the Ark of the Covenant was kept until its capture by the Philistines.

2- generally understood as denoting the Messiah, "the peaceful one," as the word signifies (Gen. 49:10). The Vulgate Version translates the word, "he who is to be sent," in allusion to the Messiah.

freedom fighter bob marley

http://geoffreyphilp.blogspot.com/2006/04/bob-marley-and-seven-chakras.html

An interesting piece of writing about Bob Marley and his songs.

BREAKING NEWS:

I just read that Jamie Foxx will be acting as Bob Marley in a "Ray" style biography film that will start production soon! Controversy! My initial reaction was negative, then when I thought about it, I could not think of any actor that could do the job justice except maybe one of his biological sons. So for me it's either a Marley son, an unknown actor or Jamie Foxx. I am looking forward to the final product.

i love being in another medium than air

i can't believe it's June already! it is I-ficcially summer! i want to swim and colleagues say i should go to walden pond which is 20 minutes away but being from the meditterranean, i can't make myself swim in a pod. i have to wait until i return home. : (

here are two pix i took last september in gumusluk in the city of mugla in southwestern turkiye. you can see the beautiful shore and sea and typical architecture around the village of gumusluk in the city of mugla in southwestern turkiye. you can see the mosque in the upper right as well as a fish restraurant right on the shore on the right. ohhh. i almost was going to make this pic my desktop now, but i decided not to because seeing places in complete contrast to where i am right now makes me depressed. we were looking at pix of trinidad the other day and i could not go on after 5 minutes because i'm ashamed to say that i felt like bombing somewhere. too animalistic but i can't help it!

today also means the first month anniversary of my locking hair. i still have the black rubber bands in and i am planning to take them of after 2 months, and if i can be patient enough at the 3-month mark.. the interesting thing is that my hair is locking around the rubber band in each of the sections and that is great because if i can have the root lock and the rest will lock by itself without the root carrying the risk of untangling or meshing with the next lock. so the progress so far other than the roots around the rubber band locking is 4-5 of the sections have locked at the end. however, most are not locked at all except the root. like i said before, i am washing every 2-3 days without conditioning and spraying with a rosemary-teatree oil and water mixture every morning and evening. the spray makes my hair smell nice and think it makes it grow faster too.

click to see a presentation which gives you really interesting fun facts about turkiye. in case you haven't noticed i'm in love with my country because of it's history, nature, people, food etc. this presentation includes many aspects of it. it may take a minute to start, but if you ask my opinion! it is worth the wait.
