90s are better than the 80s

i was watchin an overall review of the bad fashions of the 90s. it s more fun to remember the 90s than 80s or 70s because i can actually clearly remember me and my friends wearing those things too.
some of the things that are worth mentioning are :

- fanny bags; actually i m not so sure about the english name of it but it's a.k.a. "bel cantasi"- wherever you went you looked like a tourist"
- tiny tiny backpacks with long straps
- scruchie; again i m not so sure about the english name but it's those hair ties that are a lot of fabric sawn around elastic
- grunge look - "grunge look was great because suddenly construction workers were in"
- flannel shirt, especially tying one around your waist
- overalls aka "tulum," extra points is given when one strap is down
- heroin chic look, looking like a dead corpse popularized by fashion icon kate moss "the only people who found that look hot are EMT workers"
- dr martens
- horizantally stiped socks up to the knee
- pump sneakers
- sticker tatoos
- floppy hats, you could easily find them in ortakoy, worst are the velvet ones

haar

i love these posters of one of my most favorite movies/musicals "hair." great art nouveau and nice slogans too. the movie was full of enthusiasm which was inspiring. love the dances, love the hair.

no internet at home yet

one of my newfound favorite things to do on the weekends in this very boring city is to go to this new food place that s only 10 minute walking distance from my apartment and spend a couple hours eating and entertaining myself with my computer. i rip CDs, make dope playlists, catch up on e-mail and try to find interesting websites. well, in that place, i noticed a really cool painting on the wall and went ahead and googled the artist. these pictures are two of my favorites from his website. his name is oneil junior and he is a local artist from the south end. i like his simple style. only the essentials. i might actually get inspired by his vase painting and do a large-scale one for my living room. it sure will brighten up the space. www.oneiljunior.com

here we go again

yes, due to unplanned but definitely fortunate circumstances regarding my brain and its ability to remember my username and password to my previous blog, i ve decided to carry on the legacy on this page. it s a fresh start. it s bigger than ever. two thumbs up.

now, the best thing about this new existence on the net is that i now officially own a laptop (i had to give my old one to my mom to sooth her lonely nights in ny, which crashed after a few months anyway). i have even signed up for broadband service which should be hooked up early next week. on top of that, taking a step closer to how most of americans spend their time, i also requested cable service for my apartment. they actually are coming today to hook it up.

signing up for things in this country of thieves and pirates is one of the most self-destructing things one can do. when you call and let them know of your desire to be a bill-payer for them, they intentionally do not tell you of any fees or taxes that will definitely appear on your bill other than their campaign price of $x.99. i had to milk the information off the woman with a disiplined interrogation method. it turns out that i had to pay about $10 more each month. of course, nobody tells that to me.
